Stephen Kirchner is principal of Institutional Economics, Australia. Previously, he worked as Director of Economic Research for MMS International in Singapore and Sydney. He has also worked as a senior policy adviser to members of the Australian House of Representatives and Senate and as a lecturer in the School of Economics at the University of New South Wales and the Graduate School of Business, University of Technology, Sydney. Stephen is widely quoted and published on monetary policy and economic issues and is the author of Reforming Central Banking (Centre for Independent Studies, 1997). His weblog, Institutional Economics, has featured in Forbes’ Best of the Web. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the Australian National University; a Master of Economics (Hons) from Macquarie University; and a PhD in economics from the University of New South Wales.
